NewWave vs viral.app: pricing, payouts, and view tracking compared

September 29, 2026 · 6 min read

In May, viral.app published a page comparing itself with us. That is fair game, and we are doing the same thing here. A few things on their page were out of date, though. It says we do not publish pricing and do not track TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or Facebook. We do both. Their table also shows “Available with caveats” wherever they had no information about us, which is most of the rows.

So here is our side, as of September 29, 2026. We will also tell you where viral.app is the better pick, because for some teams it is.

The short version

  • Pick NewWave if you want one place for the whole campaign: creator applications, briefs and scripts, contracts, review before anything posts, view tracking, and per-view or retainer payouts, with no cut of creator pay.
  • Pick viral.app if you need Snapchat Spotlight or App Store revenue tracking, mostly want to track creators you already manage, or want the lowest entry price.

Going through their page, row by row

  • “No public pricing found.” Plans start at $199/month with a 7-day free trial. It is in the FAQ on our homepage.
  • “TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook: Not included.” We run TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube campaigns today. We do not support Snapchat Spotlight, so that part is fair.
  • “Refresh cadence unclear.” Views on campaign videos refresh every 2 hours on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, and every 4 hours on Facebook.
  • “Payout rule depth unclear.” Brands pay per 1,000 views, add view-tier bonuses, pay per video, set a fixed warm-up payment, or hold pay behind a posting target with retainers. Each campaign sets its view window (14 days by default), lump-sum or as-views-come-in payment, and a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule. The full rules are in how tracking and payouts work.
  • “API and webhook docs unclear.” Our automation runs through an MCP server that works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Codex. We do not publish a REST API or webhooks today. viral.app does.
  • “Creator Marketplace: caveats.” Creators apply to NewWave with a portfolio, a person on our team reviews every one, and approved creators apply to your campaigns. You can also invite your own creators by email or link.
  • “Competitor Tracking: caveats.” The Competitors page tracks up to 5 competitor brands and shows the short-form videos that are working for them.
  • “Permissions and roles: caveats.” Workspace members have roles, and agencies run a separate workspace per client with client access.

Where viral.app is the better pick

  • Snapchat Spotlight tracking and an App Store revenue integration.
  • A lower entry price: $99/month against our $199/month.
  • More payout countries and methods, including PayPal, Venmo, and stablecoins.
  • A public REST API and webhooks.

Where we are the better pick

  • No cut of creator pay. On $20,000 of creator payouts in a month, a 3% fee is $600.
  • The work before the post lives in the same place: briefs, scripts, e-signed contracts, and review with revision requests.
  • Retainers that hold a creator's normal per-video pay until they hit a posting target, at no extra fee.
  • A managed tier where our team runs the campaign for you.

If you are choosing between us, try both. Each has a 7-day trial. Run the same small campaign on each and see which one your team actually opens every morning.
